Rachael Pine is responsible for all leadership functions including overall organizational direction, management, and resource development of the Fund for Public Health in New York. As its Executive Director she oversees the Fund's
- business development and partnership with NYC Department of Health;
- grant/project development, fundraising, and marketing;
- Board development and support;
- administrative, fiscal and contract management functions.
The Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY) is a non-profit organization established in. FPHNY is dedicated to advancing public health in NYC. It works independently and in partnership with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), leveraging and enhancing public sector capacity with private sector resources. FPHNY is a home for innovative and high-impact programs, catalyzing the scale-up of those new
approaches with proven return on investment. Programs include: hospital emergency preparedness, health disparities, promotion of physical activity in children, early child health in families at risk, disease prevention and screening in primary care e.g. re colon cancer, diabetes, depression, sexually transmitted disease in adolescents.
Rachael Pine counts as her major accomplishments as FPHNY's first Executive Director,
- the development of start-up organization from 2-staff with one principal program and funding source, and reliance on a fiscal sponsor for back-office functions into an independently operating organization.
- FPHNY now has 14 central office staff, 12 program staff, nearly 40 grant-funded projects with more than 18 funders, and a fiscal/contract management system tracking expenses and reporting on spending across nearly 200 subcontracts in multiple grant years.
- Today, FPHNY is part of the non-profit public health landscape in NYC.
Before coming to the Fund she was Vice President for Public Affairs at EngenderHealth.
