Tom Davis is an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ. He was trained for the ministry at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, where he studied under the renowned Reinhold Niebuhr at Union Seminary in New York City. Reverend Davis gained a doctorate from Duke University writing his dissertation on Adlai Stevenson.
He was a credentialed New York State Alcoholism Counselor and chaired the NYS Accreditation Board for Alcoholism Counselors, 1979-1984. He is currently chaplain emeritus at Skidmore College, where he taught religion for 30 years.
Reverend Davis is the chair of the Clergy Advisory Board of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and writes for its journal, Clergy Voices. His book, Sacred Work: Planned Parenthood and Its Clergy Alliances was published by Rutgers University Press in February 2005.
