Mary Alice Carr

Mary Alice Carr is Vice President of Communications for NARAL Pro-Choice New York overseeing all media, messaging and materials.

She elucidates NARAL's agenda in her Future Choices presentation, "This Year Should America Vote Pro-Choice?” which airs in Westchester County throughout March 2008.

Ms. Carr serves as an organization’s spokesperson and press director, appearing on local and national news programs including MSNBC, CNN, and as a counterpoint on several Fox News programs such as The O’Reilly Factor and The Neil Cavuto Show.

Prior to coming to NARAL Pro-Choice New York, Mary Alice lived and worked in Colorado, handling fundraising and communications for several non-profits and political campaigns. Her proudest achievement was her work managing fundraising for a 2000 campaign defeating a so-called “informed consent” initiative by a vote of 60/40 at the same time the state voted for George W. Bush.

She holds a B.A. in History from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
She is married to Leonard Carr, a former fundraiser for local and national Democratic candidates who currently works in finance.
Together, they have one daughter.
